From as early as I can remember I loved video games. We had a Commodore 64 and an Amiga 2600. When the NES was first released my brother and I got one for Christmas and we pressured our parents to let us play it on Christmas Eve. Double Dragon II on NES is one of my all time favourites! Mario Kart came out on the SNES and we battled for hours at a time. We would talk about mode 7 and how it made the SNES a far superior gaming experience.
PS One landed and blew me away and Play Station has continued to do so. I’m not entering in to an argument that PS is better than XBOX is better than PC – it’s just what I have. Halo is one of the best arena shooters I’ve played. 4 player split screen and no gravity it makes for a good time!
As for PC, I built a reasonably respectable gaming rig for fun and explored a few titles. Minecraft, Battlefield, Dead Space, Counter Strike, etc. I use a computer all day (and sometimes night) for work. I game to wind down – sitting at a desk with a keyboard and mouse does the opposite after a while. I know, I know a keyboard would beat a controller in a street fight. But I’m just more comfortable on the couch with a controller.
I plan on using this blog to talk about my gaming collection, my thoughts on the current games I’m playing and retro games I’ll never let go of.
